This policy covers smartautomator.com, run by Smart Automator LLC ("Smart Automator", "we", "us"). Questions: hello@smartautomator.com.
What we collect
- When you request a free guide or checklist: your email address and the page you signed up from.
- When you request a quote or a strategy session: your name, email, phone number, the service you're interested in, preferred times, and anything you write in your message.
- When you buy a digital product: payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details and billing information; we never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email, what you bought, and the amount paid, so we can deliver your download and help with refunds.
- When you email us: whatever you choose to include.
- When you browse the site: Google Analytics records anonymous usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived. It uses cookies to do this.
How we use it
- To send you the free guide you asked for and reply to your requests.
- To deliver your purchase, provide download links, and process refunds.
- To schedule and provide consultations and installation services.
- To send occasional emails with smart home tips, new guides, and offers from Smart Automator (see below).
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
- To keep records required for taxes and accounting.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising profiles.
Emails from us
If you request a free guide or checklist, buy a product, request a quote or session, or email us, we may send you occasional emails with smart home tips, new guides, and offers from Smart Automator. We don't share your address with anyone else to email you.
Every one of these emails includes an unsubscribe link. You can also reply "unsubscribe" or email hello@smartautomator.com any time, and we'll stop. You'll still get messages you need about something you bought or asked us to do, like a download link or an appointment reply.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site and process payments, and only for those purposes:
- Netlify: hosts the website and receives the forms you submit.
- Stripe: processes payments (see Stripe's privacy policy).
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Fonts (see Google's privacy policy).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works normally without them.
How long we keep it
Form submissions and emails are kept while they're useful for helping you, and then deleted. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require (usually up to seven years). Download links expire 30 days after purchase.
Your choices
Email hello@smartautomator.com to ask what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. We'll respond within 30 days. We'll keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as purchase records.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
